Endoscopic discectomy A 47 year old female presented to us with severe left buttock pain and leg pain for last 3 months. Her pain increased with walking and standing and she could not move about for more than two to three minutes. Her MRI showed a huge l4 L5 extruded disc with inferior migration compressing the S1 nerve root. She had tried oral medications Physiotherapy for the last two and a half months. She had also undergone one epidural injection without any much relief. Looking at history and symptoms she was advised to undergo endoscopic discectomy. Transforaminal endoscopic discectomy is a minimally invasive procedure done under local anaesthesia . The best part of this procedure is that the patient is made to walk or walk 30 minutes after the surgery. This patient had significant pain relief after surgery. the whole procedure to around 45 minutes and she was mobilise the same evening. Before surgery her SLR was 10 degree which improved to 80 degree after surgery and the patient was discharge next day.
