Post Discectomy Discitis Infection is a rare complication after Spine surgery. It is characterised by increased back pain , fever and discharge from surgical site. Early identification of infection and its treatment is important. Antibiotics are the mainstay of treatment and need to take for around 3 months- 6 weeks of Intravenous antibiotic and 6 weeks of oral antibiotics. Patients with paraspinal and epidural collection need debridement. The above patient underwent discectomy elsewhere. He was alright for few days after Surgery but had recurrent back pain which was much more than before. His MRI showed disc changes with abscess. He was put on antibiotics but back was still persisting affecting his movements. He underwent debridement and fusion. He was given antibiotics for 3 months and his folllow up MRI showed complete regression of symptoms.
