Tuberculosis of Spine with Paraplegia This 40 year old patient from khurja bulandshar presented to us at Jaypee hospital with severe back pain and weakness in legs. she needed support to stand and was in continous pain. she also had night pain with weight loss and loss of apetite. She also had severe pain along her ribs which increased with movements. Her MRI showed D6 pathological fracture with dicitis and pus compressing the spinal cord and cord Oedema. She underwent Decompression, Pedicle screw fixation and biopsy. Her pain improved significantly after surgery and she was gradually mobilised wih taylor brace and walker. She was started on TB medicines which were continued for 9 months. Her weakness gradually improved and at 1 year follow up she was walking independently.
