Vertebroplasty and Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures A 68 year old female from Bihar presented to us with history of fall one month back. She had developed two osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures in her spine resulting in severe back pain. She was treated initially with brace , rest and medications but she had no releif. A new MRI showed nonunion of fractures. After due counselling she underwent Cement augumentation of fracture by a minimally invasive technique called Vertebroplasty done under local anaesthesia. She had significant pain relief post surgery and was discharged next day.
